Raspberry Pi Zero W Media Center

I got my second Pi Zero W in the post today so i decided to go ahead and set it up as a second media centre for my TV in my bedroom. I need a second media centre for all my free view and media needs. The Pi Zero W is an ideal machine for this capable of streaming 1080p @ 60FPS and also having built in Wi-Fi. It's a quick and easy little media centre.

All the kit ready to go, a new case, micro USB to USB and HDMI adaptor, brand new class 10 8GB micro SD card.

fitting the Pi to it's new home.

I also added a copper heat sink as this machine will be left on all the time and will also be streaming 1080p video so it's best to try and keep it nice and cool.

All done, ready for installation.

I decided to go with Openelec as they have just released a Pi Zero W compatible image. It's also far quicker than installing Raspbian and installing Kodi.

Burning the image to the new micro SD card using Win32diskimager.
